Art Senses
Project - July 2006

The Miami Design District based Solange Rabello Art Gallery has created the project Art Senses, opening its doors for the second time for this incredible opportunity to experience an art environment for the children of Miami Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired

Established in 1931 the Miami Lighthouse is the oldest and largest private agency in Florida to serve people of all ages who are blind or the visually impaired.

The children was  hosted by the Fort Lauderdale based Brazilian artist Naza, who described each one of the artworks in a manner to help them sense and perceive a world so far inaccessible to most of the visually impaired. Naza talked about the artworks of herself, Pietrina Checcacci,  Patricia Secco, sculptures of Brazilian Victor Brecheret Filho,  wood panels made by the Brazilian artist Isabela Castello and others artworks prepared by  Solange Rabello Gallery

Solange Rabello, curator of the gallery was very enthusiastic about the project and its social function. “ I have seen this kind of initiative in all areas and I think of deep importance to grant this children with this unique opportunity. Many of them told me it was their first visit to an art gallery …Art brings emotions and has a special way to touch these children’s hearts. Social responsibilities are within reach of everyone. It only takes initiative and creativity”.

Art Senses is a Solange Rabello Art Gallery (www.solangerabello.com) project and it aims to give sequence and to expand the visits to impaired adults. The project forecasts specially designed workshops and other  activities for the next future
